The Dance Academy operates from September to June. Students study basic to intermediate instruction in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, tap, Salsa, African and a variety of other styles. Students also focus on nutrition, and team building. Music theory is integrated into each class. Additionally, he students participate in three recitals annually and are honored for their participation at an awards banquet following the final recital.
This program is for adults 18 and up. Members participate is several weekly classes including Hip-Hop, Tap, Salsa, Ballroom for couples, Jazz, African dance, Calypso and Chicago style stepping.
This program is for boy’s age’s 5-17 years old classes are held through out the week and include Hip-Hop, Pop & Locking, Tap and Break Dance. This program also includes music production and Rap. The students will have workshops in self-esteem and team building. Performance opportunities are available. Community leaders come in each month to engage in dialogue with the men concerning violence prevention, college preparation, and social issues.
This is a creative movement dance program for toddlers. Classes are held in the morning hours two days a week. The program is geared toward stay at home mothers and fathers who are looking for extra activities for their busy toddlers. Students will have the opportunity to take part in a presentation for family and friends. This program is also offered to childcare facilities and organizations.
Stajez is also in collaboration with the Boston Bengals Pop Warner Football Team. Together we have created Stajez of Bengals Dance Team. This is a competitive dance and cheer squad consisting of 35 girls, ages 9-17. Stajez trains and prepares the girls for all competitions and games. Stajez is also providing 10 scholarships to girls ages 5-7 to take classes in Jazz and Tap dance. The selected students receive free classes for three months and be included in Stajez annual recital.
This six-week workshop is for girls, ages 7 -12 years old. The focus is primarily on dance; however, other forms of performing art are explored as well. The girls work in two groups (ages 7-8 and 9-12) as they participate in groups discussing various topics such as conflict resolution, social issues and health. Students will create and produce an original production to be presented to family and friends at the end of the program.
Each week, the students attend classes at other studios to build their technique and performance skills. Students participate in workshops based on health, fitness, costume design, hair and make-up for performances, auditions, and how to market and produce a show. This camp is offered to girls who have excelled academically and have a great interest in the arts.
Our resident professional youth dance companies host free workshops and performances for local camps and children’s organizations throughout the summer. Students alos have the opportunity to learn multiple dance styles and perform live on stage with the companies at Stajez “Summer Fest Concert.”
This program is geared toward advance level students. Students are trained in all areas of the arts and travel throughout the year to gain instruction from some of the world’s best instructors and choreographers. Stajez has four companies and they are all unique in their own way, but have a variety of routines consisting of music, modeling, theater, poetry and dance including jazz, tap, and ballet, swing, liturgical, African dance and Hip-Hop. Throughout the year they are available for commercials, industrials, hair and fashion shows, birthday parties, school events and much more. Their performances have left audiences completely mesmerized by their phenomenal abilities.
